CLEAR Core is managed by a dedicated, all-volunteer Board of Directors. Our members are highly educated, talented and respected citizens with direct links to the community. Most are retired educators with Master’s degrees and many years of professional experiences. All members have a long list of community involvement

About Us
Mississippi is one of the poorest states in the nation. Oxford is a college town with many neighboring communities located in Lafayette County, about 150 miles north of Jackson. The 2000 census listed the population of Oxford just under 12,000 people. Economically, 31% of the population and 11% of families live below the poverty level. In May of 1997, the group established the Lafayette County Academic Scholarship (LCAS) in memory of former Lafayette county trustees who for the most part lacked much formal education. They were visionaries and inspiring leaders who dedicated their time and donated their resources to help educate the children of their communities. Foundations were laid by these pioneers and it is within that spirit that CLEAR Core accepts the responsibility for empowering our youth through education. In the spring of each year, scholarships are awarded to deserving students.
To expand its scholastic giving and other philanthropic work, CLEAR Core actively seeks new sources of funding through various fundraising activities. Additionally, CLEAR Core plans to collaborate with community partners to create opportunities for youth development. With your tax deductible donation, you can help provide funding for our scholarship program and other youth initiatives identified in our mission.
