CLEAR Core is exclusively committed to charitable, educational, and scientific undertakings. The organization focuses on supporting higher education and enrichment programs for youth in Lafayette County and creating support services for both youth and senior citizens.
In May of 1997 a group of concerned citizens from the town of Taylor, MS came together to figure out how to increase the number of local students entering colleges and universities. These concerned citizens recognized that many students needed encouragement and financial assistance without which their chances of entering college were strikingly dim.
The group established the CLEAR Core Scholarship, formerly known as Lafayette County Academic Scholarship(LCAS), in memory of former Lafayette County trustees who for the most part lacked much formal education. They were visionaries and inspiring leaders who dedicated their time and donated their resources to help educate the children of their communities. A foundation was laid by these pioneers and it is within that spirit that CLEAR Core accepts the responsibility for empowering our youth through education. In the spring of each year, scholarships are awarded to deserving students.
Since its inception, CLEAR Core has awarded over 100 scholarships and nearly $350k in award money. By increasing parental involvement and incorporating safety-nets, the graduation rate is expected to increase within the next five years.
CLEAR Core, Inc. is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status that specifically focuses on the support of higher education and enrichment programs for the youth of Lafayette County, Mississippi.
